Statewide/Miscellaneous

The Department of Conservation and Recreation talk groups in this table are heard on Zone 1 only, with the exception of the Fire talk groups which are heard other zones. Some may occasionally associate with a neighboring zone. MEP and MEMA talk groups associate with multiple zones. DCR

The Department of Environmental Protection is a separate organization from DCR within the office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. DEP

The Massachusetts Environmental Police is a statewide police agency which is the primary enforcement agency of Massachusetts's boating and recreational vehicle laws and regulations and is responsible for registering boats, all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles in Massachusetts. The agency is also responsible for the enforcement of fish and game laws, including commercial and recreational harvesting of the living marine resources along the state's coastline. It too, is an organization within Energy and Environmental Affairs. MEP

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority talk groups in this table are generally only heard on Zones 1 and 5. MWRA is a Massachusetts public authority established by an act of the Legislature in 1984 to provide wholesale water and sewer services to 2.5 million people and more than 5,500 large industrial users in 61 metropolitan Boston communities. MWRA

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority owns and oversees the operation of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center (BCEC), the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center, The MassMutual Center in Springfield, MA and the Boston Common Garage. All MCCA talk groups are heard exclusively on Zone 1. MCCA

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has several talk groups on the system, believed to be at least 20, which had been assigned to different talk groups in the past, some of the more active ones have been added here, more input in identification of these and other additional talk groups is needed, as always this is a work in progress. Some talk groups are heard on one or more zones. DOT
